Looking for something to do of a Saturday afternoon in Dublin? Might that something include mastering an arty craft or two – and enjoying a cocktail and some pizza as you do so?
Check out The Roe & Collective, a new creative workshop series hosted by Irish whiskey brand Roe & Co (which is celebrating its first anniversary round about now).
The first event of the series is taking place on Saturday 14 April in recently-opened bar, Lucky’s on Meath Street in Dublin. The afternoon features three creative workshops:
A terrarium is a collection of plants grown in a glass container – sort of a miniature garden. They are quite fab and pretty easy to take care of (which is good as we accidentally murder a lot of plants in the U office). Professional urban gardener and stain glass artist, Alison Byrne, will be hosting an introductory workshop on terrarium building and you’ll be able to create your own tiny garden in upcycled Roe & Co whiskey bottle.
Damn Fine Print specialises in printing (the clue’s in the name!) and at this workshop you’ll learn how to print one-off pieces. You’ll be shown how to use layering and overprinting techniques to create custom-made tote bags, tea towels or badges.
It couldn’t be a whiskey company’s event without a cocktail masterclass and Roe & Co Brand Ambassador Peter O’Connor, will be on hand to show guest how to create a Roe & Co cocktail. Then, after all your hard work you can kick back with a complimentary cocktail and a wood-fired pizza!
Tickets are €15 are available from EventBrite.ie and include the three workshops, a Roe & Co cocktail and a complimentary wood fire pizza. (T&Cs apply and it’s an over 18s event.) If you miss this one, there are more events on the way.
