The U team are no strangers to a bit of pampering (what? We deserve it, okay?!) and we have a neverending list of amazing places we’ve visited and loved. Here are just some that really stood out to us…

Jen Editor Kazumi Molesworth Street, Dublin “I’ve been blonde my whole life but I’ve been blonder because of my wonderful colourist Emmain Kazumi on Molesworth Streetin Dublin. I’ve cheated on her a (very) few times and always always come back. I get so long from my colour that she’s probably doing the salon a disservice but it’s a wonderful thing for anyone who gets highlights. She understands vague directions like “could it be fashion icey but not grey, sort of Scandanavian white but golden?” and I always leave very, very happy. Of course that could be down to the fact that they’re always trying to push prosecco and chocolates on me and they have the best magazines (including U). It’s ablissful couple of hours.”

Faye Staff Editor Tropical Popical South William Street, Dublin “I’m obsessed with Tropical Popical nail bar. I mean they give you a Bounty bar and Lilt when you get your nails done! They do the best nail art around, we even had my sister-in-law’s hen party there. It’s on South William Street in Dublin so it’s mad handy too, and the prices are super reasonable. And to top it off you can get your hair and make-up done at their disco bar. Basically I want to live there.”

Niamh Sales Manager Johnstown House Hotel & Spa, Meath “I went to Johnstown House Hotel & Spa in Enfield, Co Meath while I was pregnant and it was fab. They’ve a really relaxing spa lounge area, and the Elemis products they use are just amazing to get pampered with. I love their facials and their body oil is so hydrating

Denise Deputy Editor Virgo Skincare, Longford “I love going here to get my make-up professionally done. Maria is amazing at it and fantastic at putting you at ease and feeling special. I always come out with flawless skin, amazing eyes and looking like a movie star, and the best thing is the make-up stays on all day with minimal touch ups.”

Aine Designer Rouge Beauty Salon, Kilkenny 6 Bateman Quay, Kilkenny  Tel: 083 4427398 “Rouge is a gorgeous salon in the heart of Kilkenny just across the bridge from the River Court Hotel. I was bridesmaid at a wedding there recently and Ann Bourke-Gough did the wedding party’s make up which she specialises in. She’s amazing to deal with and was even able to calm down the bride’s pre-wedding jitters. Ann will also travel to you to make it less hassle. Find her on Facebook, and”

Aisling Staff Editor Eve at The Grooming Rooms South William Street, Dublin, “If you’re ever fed up with how mental Dublin can be, but you can’t get away from the city, pop into Eve. It’s like another world! It’s relaxing, secluded, quiet, you’d never know the hustle and bustle of the city was on the other side of the wall. They play girly movies while you have your mani/ pedi, they’ve all the up to date magazines (important!) and they do THE best pedicures I’ve ever had. Try the Cuccio Pomegranate and Fig treatment, it’s wonderful.”

Aisling Staff Editor The Beauty Parlour Terenure, Dublin “The beauty expert that is Pamela Laird works from here (when she’s not off shooting for Chanel somewhere!) and while she’s known for her amazing nails, I go there for my eyelash extensions, and Pamela is amazing for them, and so fast! The salon are also known for their amazing spray tans (Pamela’s mam is a dab hand) and hair extensions. It’s a great all-rounder and I love it!”

Jen Editor White Horses Spa The Lodge at Doonbeg, Clare “In the spa in The Lodge at Doonbeg, Co Clare, lies a hidden salon gem. People can often think that spas are a big deal and only for facials and full body treatments (and of course they are), but this one also has a brilliant blow dry bar that uses Bumble and Bumble products and a brilliant nail bar stocked with every colour imaginable. By all means go for the full pampering works but if you happen to be based in Clare or visiting there I can’t recommend their salon services enough too!”

Margaret Art Director Pink Beauty Boutique Main Street, Dundrum, Dublin “Such a cute little place near enough to where I work. If I need my brows looked after Aoife is the woman in the know with a range of brow qualifications under her belt. They do amazing CACI facials, and were among the first to have them in Ireland as well, so I’m told! I don’t usually get my nails done but they do those too, so if you ever need a top to toe once over...”

Jen Editor Waxperts Dun Laoghaire, Dublin “This place is my favourite for waxing and wins for the best wax I ever had. The rooms are lovely, and they’ve the TV on. The girls are really sweet, and they have their own brand of wax which really and truly doesn’t hurt at all and they put on this oil in between every rip (lovely) that makes it all very soothing. They know that you’d like a fair bit off but don’t want to look like you’re making a sex tape.”

Aine Designer Heavenly Hair Swords, Dublin, “Thick hair is the dream. Simple as.  I’d love to have long, thick, healthy hair, but my hair is naturally quite fine. So when I heard about Heavenly Hair in Airside, Swords, Co Dublin (which is near enough to where I live, handy!) I went for a consultation. The girls were so friendly, listened to exactly what I wanted and I got the feeling they cared instead of just seeing you as money in their pockets. I got them done and LOVED the result!”
