Who Run the World? Girls!
Emma Watson, Beyonce and Amy Poehler . Just some of our most inspiring women for #IWD2015!
This morning in the UFashion.ie offices, we’ve all been feeling pretty empowered. Blaring ‘Who Run the World (Girls)’, while chatting about Emma Watson’s live chat about feminism, as part of the UN’s He For She campaign and talking about all the inspirational women in our lives and how we can support each other. It’s been one hell of a morning!
Why, you ask? Well, yesterday wasn’t just your average Sunday: hungover, indulging in a fry and binging on the latest TV show in your life. If you forgot to check Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr and whatever other forms of social media you use, you might just have missed out on joining the praising of all women on International Women’s Day 2015.
Nothing has us buzzing more across social media than the gloriousness that was women talking about women, women supporting women, women asking for men to support the movement in creating an equal world for both genders. Nope not even The Dress had us this buzzing.
The UFashion.ie ladies spared no time in discussing who our favourite feminist are and difficultly, narrowed it down to Emma Watson, Beyonce and Amy Poehler.
No surprises here huh? Emma Watson and her He For She UN campaign, Amy Poehler and her unapologetically honest and public statements about the inequality in the world and Beyonce. Well, it’s Beyonce. (Lest not forget who reminded us who runs the world!).
All feminists. All incredibly strong, inspiring and amazing women. And all super freakin’ stylish.
They may be fighting for equal rights, but there’s no denying these ladies look good doing it.
Not only is she a UN ambassador and an academic, Emma Watson is also influential in the style stakes and can often be seen front row at a show or two during the big fashion weeks. She is the epitome of classic, British style. Simple and elegant style without looking dated on her youthful self.
