7 steps to becoming a more organised person
Ever feel like there are just not enough hours in the day. Well you’re not alone and don’t worry because we have seven fool proof steps to becoming an organised goddess.
Get a day planner
THIS WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE! Jotting down everything you need to get done that day is the first step to becoming organised. Write out a to-do list for the day, schedule in all your meetings and any events you have to attend as well as anything you have to follow up on. If you plan your day out, you won’t stress out about forgetting the millions of things you have to get done.
Have a clear out
If you haven’t used it in over a year chances are you’ll never need to use it again. De-cluttering is not only good for the home it’s also good for the soul. You’ll feel like a new woman once you’ve rid your life of all your useless bits and pieces.
Avoid a fashion crisis
Plan your outfit for the next day, the night before. This will save you so much time in the morning and you won’t end up tearing through your room looking for your favourite black dress at 7am. Knowing what you’re wearing the next day will also give you a better night sleep and you won’t be scanning through your wardrobe in your head trying to figure out what you to wear.
DO NOT PROCRASTINATE!!
Everyone procrastinates from time to time, it’s only natural that our brains switch off once and a while. But leaving things to the last minute is the WORST thing you can do. Learning how to manage your time is a valuable skill that will make being organised seem like the easiest thing in the world.
Give everything a home
Putting things back in their place is something that every organised person does. It helps you to keep a clean house and you haven’t a hope of losing anything is everything has a designated place. It’s a win-win situation!
One thing at a time
Focus on one task at a time. Trying to do two things at the same time is a disaster waiting to happen. Dedicate your full attention to the task at hand and you’ll find that you will get it done well and with time to spare.
Apply deadlines
Giving yourself a due time/date for when something has to be done is a great way of making sure things get done on time. If you don’t set deadlines for yourself, things you have to do will keep getting pushed back and will never get done. Make them realistic though. You won’t be able to clean your entire house in an hour so don’t put yourself under that kind of pressure.
