It was all about the romance on 98FM’s Big Breakfast show this morning when one listener decided to propose to her partner live on air. Yes we said LIVE. These kind of proposals usually go one of two ways: either the lucky recipient of the ring says yes, agrees to marry their (extremely brave) other half and everybody listening gets that feel-good factor on their way to work; or, someone says no and it all ends in tears – very public tears we might add.
Luckily for Sínead Delaney it went very well indeed. After winning a €2,500 diamond ring from The Dublin Diamond Factory and given that its 29th February, the traditional day for a woman to propose to a man instead of the other way round, Sínead used the opportunity to propose to her partner Darren.
The couple who have been together eight years and have a 5 year old son made their engagement official today when a nervous Sínead said she would “love nothing more” than for Darren to become her husband, to which he replied “no problem I will.” Awww.
