Fergie talks with U mag about family life, beauty and being the current face of Wet ‘n Wild, and how she puts her family ahead of her career…

She’s the feisty lead singer of the Black Eyed Peas but at home Fergie is the doting mother of her baby son Axl Jack with husband Josh Duhamel (yes, the hot Hollywood actor!). What a lucky girl. And while her personal life is soaring, so too is her career. Fergie gave birth to the couple’s first baby on 29 August last and is so far relishing motherhood. She told U magazine: “It’s been such an amazing journey for Josh and I so far, and each day gets more exciting.” We can imagine, what with waking up to Josh everyday!

The singer is the current face of beauty brand Wet n Wild and some products in the range have even been named after her. Nice work if you can get it! She explained: “This was probably the most organic partnership I could have ever imagined. Wet n Wild, its owner Eric Chen, and I all come from the exact same place, a neighbourhood in LA called Hacienda Heights. I was Wet n Wild’s target customer while growing up, and now I have a chance to be part of its evolution. Creating a luxury product which is very affordable has been such an amazing journey for us. I’m extremely excited to be taking my partnership with Wet n Wild further by creating a complete make-up line that every woman can wear. “Make-up is a personal passion of mine, so I made sure that I touched and curated every single product in this collection to ensure we are offering the highest quality formulas, textures, and shades available,” she added.

Fergie is a household name as a member of the Black Eyed Peas and is constantly photographed at glamorous red carpet events. And when it comes to beauty, she can’t live without her lipstick. “I always keep a Fergie Daily lipstick with me. It’s a great nude that you can wear every day. Hence the name. I also keep moisturiser on hand – with all of the travelling I do, I’m always hydrating. Hydrated skin also holds make-up the most evenly,” Fergie said.

She always looks sensational, but like every woman Fergie can be insecure too. “Let’s be truthful, who doesn’t have insecure moments? On stage or on the red carpet, it’s important to own your look and remember who you are.”Fergie isn’t only juggling motherhood and her Wet n Wild campaign, she’s also still part of the Black Eyed Peas and constantly working on new material. “I just finished a song named Netflix on 2Chains’ album and have some other fun stuff I’m working on too. I’ve always got something up my sleeve. I really don’t feel like I’ve ever stopped. Between my shoe line, fragrances, winery, Wet n Wild cosmetics, the Miami Dolphins and of course, my music, I’ve kind of always just kept going work wise. I will always be focused on my family, that goes without saying,” she added.
