Sex and the City Actress passes away aged 85
Our thoughts go out to Ben Stiller and family
Actress Anne Meara has passed away at 85-years-old. Mother to Ben and Amy Stiller, the actress and Emmy Award winner is confirmed to have passed away on Saturday morning.
The family have released a statement on her death but have expressed no interest in revealing any more information to the public.
“Anne’s memory lives on in the hearts of daughter Amy, son Ben, her grandchildren, her extended family and friends, and the millions she entertained as an actress, writer and comedienne,” a statement released by the Stiller’s reads.
Anne, who played Steve Brady’s mother, Mary in the hit show Sex and the City, was married to fellow actor and comedian, Jerry Stiller for 61 years. The couple starred together as Stiller and Meara on The Ed Sullivan Show five decades ago. Also during the Sixties, the duo took home several awards for the TV and radio commercials they recorded together.
“[Jerry was Anne’s] husband and partner in life,” the statement reveals “The two were married for 61 years and worked together almost as long.”
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Stiller family during this very sad time.
