Perrie speaks out after split from Zayn

When will all the heart-break end?

From Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale to Kate Moss and Jamie Hince, it’s been splitsville in celeb town of late. And adding more heartbreak to the mix are Perrie Edwards and Zayn Malik.

The devastated Little Mixer has finally spoken out after news broke earlier this week that Zayn Malik had broken off their engagement two weeks ago.

The 22-year-old star took to Twitter early this morning to thank her fans for their support and to kindly let them know she’s not blanking them, she’s just upset.

“Just want to thank all my family, friends and fans for helping me get through this hard time! Because of you all I’m still smiling,” Perrie tweeted.

She added: “I’m trying to stay strong, but it’s natural to feel heartbroken so if I come across quiet when meeting fans, I’m sorry! I do love you all lots”.

It comes a day after the star, who is currently in LA promoting the band’s new single Black Magic, appeared on E! with Little Mix and was asked by the host: “Perrie, obviously I know it’s a very tough time for you with the news breaking today about you and Zayn, so your fans, I know, are heartbroken.”

Looking slightly emotional (obvs), she replied: “I’m good, thank you.”

Perrie and Zayn had been together for four years and engaged for two after meeting on the set of the X Factor. The split comes just weeks after the pair bought a €4 million house together.

According to sources Zayn wanted a “fresh start”. What a tool.

And in more sad Celeb Land news, long-time lovers (and fighters) Kermit and Miss Piggy have revealed they’ve also called it a day.

The pair of Muppets broke the news in joint statements on Facebook, saying that they had come to the difficult decision after “thoughtful consideration and considerable squabbling”.

Miss Piggy is said to have ended the relationship – however, it comes amid rumours that there was another woman in the mix, with Emmy Rossum tweeting: “UGH. I’m SO upset. That being said, we DO look good together, IMHO ‪#SorryMissPiggy ‪#Sorry@SamTheMovie,” alongside a picture of the pair. Kermit, you dirty dog.
