We’ve rounded up the best of what Irish style has to offer for some fashion insider info.
Next up in our Queens of Style section is international fashion stylist, style expert, TV presenter and all-round cool kid, Courtney Smith, formally known as CoCo (we love her already!). Her style, as you can see from her impressive instagram account, is the epitome of risk-taking, fashion-forward glamour. Smith channels a different era into each of her outfits with a distinct ‘Courtney Smith’ vibe off each of them.
Whether she’s opting for a 70’s inspired fur coat and Andy Warhol-esque sunglasses or lazing on a Sunday in a check shirt and ripped jeans, Courtney’s outfit is always on point.
We’ve enlisted the help of Courtney to tell us about some of the biggest fashion faux-pas’ right now, what trends we should be looking out for this spring and to ask her about a few of her favourite UFashion.ie pieces.
When did you first get involved in styling?
Professionally I styled my first ever shoot that went to print in U magazine actually and it was all about how to achieve Lady Gaga’s style.
Thankfully both me and the magazine have evolved in terms of fashion though haha – I was 21 so that was 7 years ago almost! I studied fashion design in Sallynoggin and always created my own little photoshoots with my friends wearing my designs so one of my tutors pushed me down the route of styling so then I went on to do a post grad in Fashion Media in London College of fashion and never really looked back.My mom and dad would probably tell you I started attempting to style them and myself while I was still in nappies though.
What is your favourite thing about being a stylist?
I love the variety! No day is ever the same for me so it keeps it interesting. There can still be pretty boring days as well as the incredibly exciting days of shoots and fashion shows and travel so it’s not all glamour but I love what I do so I consider myself extremely lucky.
What trends are you most excited about for spring/summer ’15?
WHITE EVERYTHING. I adore fresh white as a trend and the white lace and broderie anglaise is coming back in a big big way… team with camel tones and you are onto a winner.
What/Who inspires your style?
I am a major people watcher and love seeing how other people interpret trends… for the most part that’s what inspires me but I’d be lying if I didn’t admit a girl crush on Sienna Miller’s latest style revival.
What is the cringiest fashion mistake you’ve ever made?
I still make mistakes… I think it’s important to experiment to a degree. I know what I like and what I don’t like and my personal style would always have a slightly undone vibe and usually a bit of a seventies nod.
But I do remember one of my earlier fashion week experiences in London and I was trying just too hard and wore a snakeskin suit and lime green jumper with nude heels… it was horrific and shows it’s always best to just be yourself and you will look most comfortable. I’ve learned my lesson now.
What is your biggest fashion faux pas right now?
Right now as I write this I am wearing leather leggings and my jumper doesn’t cover my bum… never a good look! But I am in my office and nobody can see me so it’s OK.
What is the best purchase you’ve ever made?
I’ve made tons of killer purchases… the most recent ones has to be Manolo Blahnik boots in the Brown Thomas sale reduced to like €300 though. Winner.
And your favourite UFashion.ie products?
Risk Taker- Click here
You can never have to many leather trousers – love these and the zip detail and cropped length too.
Boyfriend- Click here
Blue is one of my favourite colours to wear and love that this can double up as a shirt or dress… the china blue print is also really cool, kind of has a vintage vibe.
Romaine- Click here
As mentioned before I’m pretty excited about the upcoming all white trend and the off-the-shoulder detail on this dress gives it a real Mediterranean feel… perfect for holidays.
Drunk in Love- Click here
This little top comes in white too… remind me of the cute french labels I love – a little sexy but in a very laid back way. I always love lace inserts.

OBSESSED with this because I adore biker jackets and leather jackets but this one has a summer fabric and colour twist. Plus the cropped length is way more flattering.
