In case you run out of Christmas cheer (as if!) When you’ve ticked every traditional festive film off your much watch list (you’ll find that list here, btw), don't fret because there are many movies that are watched religiously each Christmas which aren’t necessarily your average ‘Christmas’ movies. Some might just be set in the month of December, some have a few Christmassy undertones and some just have simply been watched in sitting rooms this time of year for yonks. So if you’re looking for a movie marathon for your time off next week, here’s our favourite 'non-Christmas' Christmas movies of all time: Die Hard [embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2TQ-pOvI6Xo[/embed] Batman Returns [embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Too3qgNaYBE[/embed] Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (or any of them!) Did yours make the list? What makes a Christmas movie an absolute classic is not the time of year it was released but how many years you’ve sat on a couch with your family, gorged on tins of Roses until you’re physically ill and somewhere along the line created a time-honoured tradition of watching your fave films over and over again. With only 8 big sleeps to go until the big day, we’re starting to check off our annual list of must-watch movies and here are our top 10 favourites: It’s a Wonderful Life [embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nXsu5XArEUw[/embed] Home Alone [embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K4qLXp2kX3k[/embed] Santa Clause The Movie [embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6hbX_fRgzqk[/embed] Elf [embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gW9wRNqQ_P8[/embed] Miracle on 34th Street (The 1947 version!) Don't miss out on feeling festive It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas– the trees are starting to go up, the Christmas lights have been switched on and we’ve already started cranking up the festive songs at full volume (we’re not even slightly afraid to admit this). Since it’s now officially the month of December, and there's only 24 more big sleeps until the big day, we reckon we should all indulge in some serious festive cheer and milk every single sweet moment of it. So here’s our list of the top things to do this December and they're sure to have your feeling festive. Listen to ChristmasFM. Not only does this station play Christmas related songs only, as well as giving us regular news reports on what happening in the North Pole, but it’s all in aid of a great cause too. This year the station will be donating all funds raised to Make A Wish Ireland. To listen in, check out your local frequency here. We've already programmed it into our cars. Go to a Christmas Carol concert. Every time we watch Home Alone we get a longing to go and listen to some carols in order to feel truly Christmassy and this year we are promising ourselves we are going to do it. Check out the carol concert at St Patricks Cathedral on Sunday, 13 December or the Carols by Candlelight on 23 December at the National Concert Hall. There’s bound to be some carol services in your local town too so be sure to have a Google. Send your Christmas cards. Whether you’re only sending them to a handful of friends or going all out and wishing Christmas cheer on everyone you know, make sure you’re organised and do it early. The last posting date for cards and parcels in Ireland is 21 December. For Europe it’s 12 December (for parcels) and for the USA it’s December 7. Check out more final posting dates at anpost.ie. Do your bit. Dig up some old toys or ask the little people you know for toys they no longer want and gather some gifts for different charities in time for Christmas. If you don't have any toys close by, why not do your bit by donating a monetary gift to the World Vision Toy Appeal instead? The appeal aims to help refugee children who are suffering the traumas of emergency situations and give them a break from their realities by providing play time and toys as distractions. Donating €5 will give a child a new football, €15 will provide a little girl with a new doll and €35 will give the gift of a scooter. See worldvision.ie for more gift ideas and ways to donate. Watch a classic Christmas movie. Cosying up on the couch with hot choc and your dog watching your favourite festive film goes without saying, but if you want to do something extra special this year, go and see a Christmas drive-in movie at Tattersalls Country House in Ratoath, Co. Meath. The drive-in movies run from 27 December until 31 December with daily screenings of The Polar Express, The Muppet Christmas Carol, Miracle on 34th Street, National Lampoons Christmas Vacation and It’s a Wonderful Life – among others. See Tattersalls for more information. Go Ice Skating. This is one of our favourite things to do in the run up to Christmas and there are a number of skating rinks set up across the country this time of year. Get your skates on and check out your nearest Ice Skating Rink at familyfun.ie. Check if you’re on the Naughty or Nice list You could go see Santa about this one or do it the modern way, by visiting claus.com. You’re bound to be on the good list and you can subtly leave your wishlist lying around since you’re so deserving. If you’re on the naughty list, however, start spreading some cheer and fast. Treat yourself Buying yourself a Christmas pressie goes without saying but you also need to treat yourself to some festive gear to wear to work on Christmas Eve or to stay cosy over the next few weeks. We're particularly liking this Reindeer take on Kim Kardashian. Now that's what we call a Christmas jumper! See more fab knits at funkychristmasjumpers.com.
With all the parties ahead, these gorgey hair tutorials have come at the perfect time.

Tis the season to spend all your money on Ryanair and Christmas markets. There's a definite cold nip in the air and, as of this week, all talk has turned Christmas-related so we're officially counting down the days until the big day. With so much happening around this time of year, it's hard to get your head around what you'd really like to do when you finally get those much-needed days off work. Of course, chilling out in front of the fire and stuffing our faces with selection boxes is usually at the top of our list but this year, make Christmas truly special with a trip to a cool destination around Europe. Christmas markets have been popping up around Europe over the last number of years and they just keep getting better and better. The U team have kindly put together a list of some of the best markets around Europe, offering food, trinkets, crafts, hot drinks and - to top it off - one helluva an experience, it's worth saving the pennies to book a Ryanair flight and a cheap and cheerful Air B'nB.
And we want it all…
