What's on - ASLAN

It’s payday weekend ladies, and you know what that means. We’re going to go out and blow our load, living it up for the one weekend a month we feel flush. Then it’s back to scrambled eggs for lunch from next week. Just us trapped in this vicious cycle?

Anyway, here’s the best of what’s on this weekend.

What’s on in Dublin?

Katherine Ryan @ The Olympia Theatre

If you’re in town to soak up the Six Nations atmosphere / show the Welsh some Irish hospitality and don’t want to go home once the match is over, check out Katherine Ryan’s show at the Olympia. We loved Katherine as the prisoner of Channel 4’s How Did You Get So Rich? while her appearances on 8 Out of 10 Cats make her howl. GLITTER ROOM is Katherine’s first UK/Ireland tour since the hugely successful KATHBUM. We’ll see you there.

Saturday, 24 February @ 8pm. Tickets are priced from €28 and are available here

What’s on in Cork?

Aslan @ Cork Opera House

If you’re never seen Aslan live we suggest you get tickets to this gig ASAP. Seriously, there’s a reason Christy Dignam has become a national treasure, and it’s only partially to do with the energy he puts into every live show. You’ll know all the words, the crowd will be up some craic and whatever energy you bring the band will reflect back tenfold. One not to miss.

Friday, 23 February @ 8pm. Tickets are priced from €28 and are available here

What’s on in Kerry

The Gathering @ The Gleneagle Killarney

If it’s a party you’re after, grab the girls and head to Killarney for The Gathering, a festival of traditional Irish music and an excellent knees up. Seriously! This year’s line up is one of the most richly diverse programmes they’ve had, and features everything from a celebration of Scottish musicians Aly Bain and Phil Cunningham to vibrant music from The Raw Bar Collective, Des Dillon’s set dancing puppets and the outstanding voice of Séan O’Sé. Expect magic and mayhem! We’ll be heading along for the nightly ceili, kicking off at 10pm every night.

From 23 – 25 February @ 10pm. Tickets are priced at €10 and are available here
