Inspired by the Irish release of A Star Is Born we're crushing hard on these 7 on screen couples. Serious notions of love over here!

We went to see A Star Is Born last night and the on-screen chemistry between Gaga and Cooper is what makes this movie fantastic and it got us thinking, what other films are made special by the main characters having such great on-screen chemistry? Turns out, quite a lot.

Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper

In case it wasn’t obvious, we are so obsessed with Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper. We’re crushing these so hard - and yes, we know they are both happily in relationships but still.

Julia Roberts & Richard Gere

Pretty Woman is our ultimate go-to film (questionable storyline aside) and when we’ve gone overboard with that, we have the Runaway Bride. ‘Cos Julia Roberts and Richard Gere play being in love so well that they did it twice.

Elizabeth Taylor & Richard Burton

If you thought Richard Gere and Julia Roberts were bad for making a few films togehter... meet Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. These two have starred in multiple films together but when their on-screen chemistry was at its peak was during Cleopatra. These two loved each other so much that they got married...twice!

Zooey Deschanel & Joseph Gordon-Levitt

Okay, so while the whole storyline of 500 Days Of Summer isn’t that desirable (yes, we’re still angry at Tom for throwing a tantrum because Summer didn’t want to be his girlfriend) There’s no denying that Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt play being in love really well.

Rachel McAdams & Ryan Gosling

Speaking of romances that make our hearts hurt. The Notebook is one of the greatest romantic movies out there and we can thank Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling for this. The two actually hated each other when they were shooting the film but as is the way with all relationships built on hate, it eventually turned into love and that pair dated.

Natalie Wood & Richard Beymer

When we’re not watching rom-coms, we’re watching musicals. Natalie Wood and Richard Beymer as Tony and Maria in West Side Story have the best on-screen chemistry to rival all chemistries

Kate Winslet & Leonardo Dicaprio

Jack and Rose are the couples of ALL couples and that’s 100 per cent down to the chemistry between these two. Their love story makes our heart hurt and Kate’s reaction when Leo finally won that Oscar... we’re still crying.

Now, if you’ll excuse us. We’re going to cry in the corner about how we’ll never find chemistry this intense.
