squad goals. @arianagrande

Move over Taylor Swift, there's a new girl squad in town.

After seven very long days waiting for Arianna Grande's latest single to drop, the time has finally come. Grande didn't make the wait easy as she posted numerous amounts of teasers to her Instagram which featured her closest friends, who coincidentally, the song is about.

Speaking to Billboard in her interview for Woman of the Year, Ariana revealed the inspiration for the song.

"You know how when you're waiting at Tiffany's, they give you lots of champagne? They got us very tipsy, so we bought seven engagement rings, and when I got back to the studio I gave everybody a friendship ring."

While Thank U, Next focused on the men that have come in and out of Ari's life, 7 Rings is all about the strong women in her life aka the women she gave engagement rings to. Wondering who the lucky few are to have a bestie that buys you a diamond ring from Tiffany & Co when they're drunk? We got you. Their names are Courtney, Alexa, Victoria, Tayla, Njomza and Kaydence.

Courtney is one of Ariana's closest and oldest friends. The pair became friends when Ariana lived in Boca Raton, Florida (aka before she got super famous). They're so close, that she even has Courtney's nickname tattooed on her knee. Recognise her? Well, it could be from spotting her in the background of Ari's Instagram stories oorrr it could be because she stared in the music video for Thank U, Next.

Love 7 Rings? Well, you can thank Njomza for its creation. She is a singer/songwriter from Chicago.  Ari's ex, the late Mac Miller signed Njomza to his record label and released her first single. The two even collaborated on a song before he passed.

Kaydence is one of Ariana's newest friends. She too is a singer/songwriter. The pair worked together on the bop that is the Sweetner album. It's hard to tell what made the collaboration grow into a close friendship but the two aren't shy to appear on each other's Instagram.

Victoria is yet another one of Ari's musician friends. The pair has been working together since 2013 and she even co-wrote Thank U, Next with Ariana. If you thought that was impressive, the singer/songwriter has also written songs for Kendrick Lamar, Kanye West, Nas and many others. Oh, and if she looks familiar...it's because she performed alongside Ariana for THAT performance on Ellen.

Alexa and Ariana have been friends since they were ten years old. The met in P.E. class and have been besties ever since. Alexa has an Instagram account that is entirely devoted to food..we're not saying she's our favourite BUT.

Tayla Parx

Taylor Parks, who goes by her stage name: Tayla Parx is a super accomplished actress and singer. She (like all of Ariana's friends) is a songwriter and has penned three Billboard Hot 100 hits for Khalid, Panic! at the Disco and obviously, Ariana Grande. Not only did she appear on THAT Ellen performance alongside Ariana and Victoria, but she's also made appearances in Everybody Hates Chris and Gilmore Girls. That's not where you know her from? Well, that's probably because her biggest acting role to date was as Little Inez in Hairspray.

Now, how much prosecco will it take to get our besties drunk enough to buy us an engagement ring?
