And Other Stories And Other Stories

We've always been pro #WomenForWomen, but this week we've had a worthy excuse to ramp up the girl power in celebration of International Women's Day, which takes place Friday 8 March. And we're not the only ones, read on to see how many brands at home and more globally are gearing up to give back for day that's in it.

Bandwagon-jumpers aren't usually something we'd give praise to, but when the cause is in support of women, 'the more the merrier' we say.

Companies with female founders and chief executive officers at the helm are for obvious reasons rowing in behind the #IWD concept, but lots of other brands too are advocating for female empowerment and the support of young women.

Read on to see some of our fave examples of brands celebrating International Women's Day in a big way...

Brown Thomas Beauty Lounge's Free Treatments

Don't @ us because booking is already closed on this one, but we still have to give credit where credit is due to the BT team for offering complementary Nails Inc express mini-manicures and FREE Aveda dry styling blow-drys at their luxe beauty destination on Clarendon Street this Friday.

Parfois' #WomenSupportingWomen Campaign

Because we are living in an age when, more than ever, women want much more than to "just have fun", the Portuguese brand has designed a pack of 2 totes bags, €15.99, inspired by the Cyndie Lauper cult classic. Printed with 'Girls Just Want To Less Judgement' or 'Girls Just Want To Be Heard', Parfois hope that you'll buy the pack, keep one and give the other to a woman in your life that you support and honour.

& Other Stories Get Weird Mini-Series

The brand went behind the scenes with the L.A. City Municipal Dance Squad, a group of eleven women who have created a community around dance, committing to challenge themselves and all of us to be bold and explore our weird sides. And because getting weird is the opposite of holding back, the co-created miniseries follows the squad around, as they host a judgement-free dance party for the women of Los Angeles.

Aer Lingus Priority Boarding for Women

Aer Lingus is offering priority boarding to female passengers on all UK and European flights from Dublin, Cork, Shannon, Knock and Belfast this International Women's Day. Close to 120 flights will take off tomorrow, seeing female passengers, along with any junior travel companions, board their flight ahead of all others, as a gesture by the airline to join in the global Girl Power celebrations.
