LFW, we’re coming for you…

So New York Fashion Week has come and gone and my oh my, was it a (fashion) affair to remember. Some of our favourite looks came from Rodarte, Michael Kors, Marc Jacobs and Jeremy Scott who pulled out, as always, showstopping, amazing looks. We’re already getting kind of excited for Autumn/Winter of this year. Kind of. Still trying to shake off those winter chills though!

But now that we’ve said goodbye to NYFW, it’s time to say a big hello to the most fashion-y of fashion event that happens on this side of the pond; London Fashion Week.

London Fashion Week, or LFW as known by all the cool kids, is one of the ‘Big Four’ fashion weeks, including Milan, New York and Paris. Established in 1984, it has since become one of the coolest, quirkiest, fashioniest and eccentric weeks in London, which is a hard feat considering how cool, quirky, fashion’y and eccentric London is.

As excited as we were for NYFW and as impressed as we were with the collections, the models, the street style and the style style, there’s something a bit different about London’s big week. Not only do the biggest high st players Topshop gets a chance to shine on the runway, the street style at LFW is second to none.

If New York is the queen of savvy, sexy, elegant and fashion-forward style, London is the queen of fashion quirkiness with a side of daring and an extra helping of cool. If you attend NYFW, you better be sure to bring with you the biggest names in fashion-think Christian Louboutin heels, an Hermès scarf and a Tom Ford coat.

If you plan on attending (or pretending your attending) LFW, you better bring that dress you bought on a whim but don’t have the confidence to wear, your ugliest-but-prettiest mom jeans, some crazy platform heels that would give Lady GaGa a run for her money and plenty of fur.

UFashion.ie have compiled a list of the clothes you need now for fitting in at LFW. Or if you just plan on hanging outside with the bloggers and stylistas alike (this is where the BIG fashion moments happen), you need to check out this list!
