It'd be rude not to...@vintagecocktailclub

A, happy, side effect of all this sunshine is we're mad for the afterwork drinks. Cocktails, in particular. Here are some of our fave Dublin venues for a glass of something delicious when it's sunny (and a few for when the sun goes down!)

Dublin's bars have come a long way from the days when your only options were a pint, a short or a very poor quality quarter bottle of wine. The biggest trend evident in recent years - aside from the wine offer by the glass, which has come on in leaps and bounds (more on this soon!) - is the explosion of great cocktail menus. From sours to old fashioneds, there isn't a bar worth its salt not rocking a curated cocktail menu in Dublin these days. Here are our top five...

Fade Street Social

The perfect spot for city centre drinks with Dylan McGrath's epic kitchen on hand for any accompanying nibbles, we love their cocktail menu because it is comprehensive and packed full of classics and signature concoctions. Our favourites include the gin-based Soothe The Beast, their whiskey beauty Strumpet City and the classic Manhattan. Check out their full cocktail menu here

Vintage Cocktail Club

No cocktail bar list would be complete without The Vintage Cocktail Club making an appearance. Right in the heart of Temple Bar, this bar, set over three floors, has a gorgeous rooftop terrace and an extensive cocktail list to suit every taste. Strictly over 23s, the award-winning venue serves up cocktails with a little tradition and history in the mix, as well as craft creations and signature options. Check out the menu here.

Bow Lane

Definitely one of the most beautiful bars in Dublin, this sister pub to the ever-popular Whitefriar Grill offers hot cups in the winter and a great wine menu by the glass. But it's the cocktails that keep drawing us back. Full of signature favourites, they also offer a good non-booze cocktail menu for those abstaining and their mixologists are quick, friendly and experienced. Good mix! Check out the cocktail menu here.

The Lucky Duck

The newest instalment from the Press Up Group, this neighbourhood bar and restaurant on Aungier Street is serving up a cocktail list with a focus on 'closed loop' cocktails, meaning less waste. The result is an interesting list of simple cocktails with bold flavours. We love their Martini. See the full list here.

We've categorized our cocktail menu into six individual sections. The 'LD CLASSICS' feature our favourites, our way. This is our take on the Martini featuring Tanqueray No TEN Gin, Sherry, Vermouth & Bitters with your choice of garnish in a chilled sidecar. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #LuckyDuckDublin #BlockIce #IceCarving #cocktailice #craftcocktails #sustainabledrinking #CocktailsAndDreams #cocktailoftheday #liquorgram #drinkstagram #cocktailhour #cocktailphotography #liqpic #bartendersbible #ImbibeGram #libations #firstroundonus #cocktailporn #igersDublin #Ireland #igersireland #DublinDaily #DublinCity #DublinBars

The Shelbourne Hotel

Hotel bars are not always the most exciting places to find the perfect cocktail and the right atmosphere to enjoy it in, but No.27 Bar in The Shelbourne Hotel is a real exception. The atmosphere is always buzzy and the service is hard to beat. Think classic, elegant and the very best of ingredients. And for a different vibe, but with the same drinks on offer, The Horseshoe Bar in The Shelbourne is a Dublin institution. It may be less 'cocktail hour' and more of a traditional pint or G&T kind of place, but you can get whatever suits your fancy here and catch up with who's who while you are at it.
