Gough won an Olivier Awards for her roles in People, Places and Things, and Angels in America.

Irish actress Denise Gough has been cast in the upcoming Game of Thrones prequel series.

According to Variety, will include Tony Award winner Alex Sharp (The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, How to Talk to Girls at Parties) and Olivier winner Denise Gough (Angels in America, Colette).

They join the previously announced cast of Naomi Watts and Josh Whitehouse.

Also involved are Olivier winner Sheila Atim (Girl From the North Country), Sweeney Todd alum Jamie Campbell Bower, Naomi Ackie, Ivanno Jeremiah, Georgie Henley, and Toby Regbo (Tusk Tusk).

SJ Clarkson is set to helm the pilot, which will take place thousands of years before the events of George R.R. Martin's popular novels and the series it spawned. Martin crafted the story for the prequel with Jane Goldman, who will serve as showrunner. 

The eighth and final season of Game Of Thrones will return to Sky Atlantic in April.
