Kim Kardashian may not be thinking of running for office anytime soon, but she's definitely not ruling it out for the future. Lord Save Us!
During in made an appearance on CNN’s The Van Jones Show, Kim K was on to talk about Alice Marie Johnson, the 63-year-old woman who was serving a life sentence without parole, on a first-time offense for drug trafficking.
Having met with President Trump last month, where she discussed pardoning Alice Marie Johnson and prison reform, the idea that Kim may be thinking about getting into politics isn't totally ridiculous.
"I honestly saw that if I could use my platform just to do something for one person," Kim told Jones, "It opens the conversation for so much more and for other people to want to do the same thing." Kim diplomatically explained, "I just want to help, starting with one person at a time."
Jones puts it to Kim that this isn't her first foray into politics; that she's spoken out about Armenian issues, Planned Parenthood and even on the divisive topic of Gun Safety in the past, which brings up the conversation around her plans to potentially run for office in the future.
"I guess, never say never," is the reality TV star's initial response. "But that’s not going to be like, 'Kim’s running.' That’s not where I am." Kim expands.
In 2012, Kim described herself a liberal republican, but she explains that she would not want to follow a specified party line whether or not she ever chooses to run, but she would like to continue helping women who have been unfairly incarcerated.
Kim K 2020? We're not sure it's any less fathomable than Trump's election.
