This life hack will have you nodding off in no time
If you ever have trouble getting to sleep (hello practically everyone) you'll understand just how frustrating it can be. As irrational as it sounds in the harsh light of day you can feel like you're never going to sleep again - insomnia has the ability to turn anyone demented.
We've tried all the pillow sprays, avoiding our phone and all the other tricks we've heard are conducive to getting a good nights rest but they never really seem to do much for us. But is there another way?
What if we told you there was a simple trick you could try that's practically guaranteed to make nodding off easier? Well there is, and it couldn't be easier. It's called the 4-7-8.
The 4-7-8 method is rooted in yoga and is designed to slow your heart rate and relax your mind. So how do you do it? Easy!
- Breath in deeply through your nose for 4 seconds
- Hold your breath for 7 seconds
- Exhale through your mouth for 8 seconds
- Repeat till you feel yourself nodding off
