Heralded as the "most effective workout method for burning fat and building lean muscle", F45 classes are a fusion of HIIT, circuit and functional training and SWEAT you will.

With three Dublin studios already functioning and two new ones set to open in Rathmines and Bray, F45's success is a marker of the ever-thriving, global fitness trend, with people around the world demanding new and varying training styles and personalized instruction to reach their goals.

F45's concept is simple: the “F” stands for Functional Training and the “45” stands for the total time of all of the classes. Every day throughout the week, each F45 studio offers a different 45-minute workout, with the same class at different times throughout the day. There are 27 different workouts fully developed, and more currently on the way, so no members get the same workout twice.

Some workouts are more resistance-focussed, while others are centered on intense cardio — and typically, the goal of strength training is not to burn more calories, but to lift as much as you can. But, in general, members can expect to burn 300 to 1,000 calories during a 45-minute workout, but obviously, muscle mass, age, gender, and intensity all play a role in the equation. Also, calories aren't the only measurement of a good workout either.

What really makes an F45 workout, or most high-intensity interval training, so effective though, is that you can expect to burn calories for up to 36 hours after a class has ended, depending on the workout and the length of the rest and work periods.
